* EDA ANNUAL CONFERENCE - 23rd NOVEMBER

The attention of Europe’s security and defence community is now focused on the implementation of the EU’s Global Strategy and subsequent initiatives, with cybersecurity and cyber-defence as a central element of capability development. Cyber-threats know no borders, and as such are best tackled with international solutions. Where should the EDA best focus its efforts to support EU Member States when it comes to cyber?
European Defence Agency is focussing on the subject at the EDA Annual Conference 2017, one of the invitee being PATROMIL Executive Director Viorel MANOLE.
Solutions to cyber-threats consist in technology on the one hand, and the human factor on the other. Most of the available technology today is dual-use, so should defence ministries change their development and procurement models? How are industrial actors adapting to provide such technology? Training and cyber-hygiene are the object of renewed attention as an efficient counter-measure to cyber-threats. How far are civilians and the military cooperating and exchanging best practises to avoid duplication and promote excellence?

PATROMIL is organizing for the first time in it`s history an economic mission in Istambul, between 10 - 13 of May 2011.
